walking with the boys

Autumn walk with the boys to one of our favorite places - the lovely pool in a big two level plaza. Far end of this negative edge pool is a 2 story waterfall to the larger park below.

out the front door

Out the front door on the eve of October, it was a perfect 76 degrees right after the sunset.
I stood on the sidewalk waiting for the pizza guy for almost 15 minutes, which was fine. in fact, I went down early to meet him because i knew it would be beautiful. There was a stiff breeze since all day there had been rain pushing up the coast.

Everything was blue and green and amber and black. And after a very busy day, the east end of downtown was very peaceful.

the eye

And here are two more shots from around the hood.
i've enjoyed this nicely done eye for a long time now.
It watches me and the dogs as we pass the railroad tracks by Krankie's.

summer tower

I took the phone photos during the summer as i was impressed by the reflection of a cloud on the glass tower.
I also am glad i retrieved my header banner art; my roses & oyster shell phone photo from May 2009.
Am also watching Maureen's 2 blogs for more pictures of the cape and news about the new job.
Wish I was in New York to help relieve her of all the cool stuff she's having to dispose of....grins +

farmer hat

Cousins from Richmond were with us and as always, we head to Old Salem bakery. nick is 12 and allen is 14 - they eat all the time and have both grown 5 inches in 9 months.

Everyone said i needed this hat, 1780s, for walking my doggies. i like it. but will have to wait for the farm - still a city boy at present.

It is a new hat from old style, made in Mexico, for a company in Austin. I love the smaller world, space and time.

favorite rug

Sorry Patricia - i have gotten to the most lazy place as a blogger, i'm afraid. i like looking at the pictures more than worry about any text, embedded links, footnotes, Grin. this is true to the max since i play on my Tumblr blog, re blogging pictures and art as stream of consciousness surrealism, without any literate in put.

So here's a bit more as we are have cousins here and are having a very slow easy Sunday Morning.

love this one the most - i think.

Hand loomed, 100%wool...

where from? Smart ass, short answer is Farmville VA. Better answer is Pakistan/Afghanistan/Iran - but i'm not sure. We been going to GreenFront rug and furniture for years and digging thru piles of imports. I know the "Persian" ones v the Indian ones. but as much as i love them all, i have done precious little studying of the different styles and patterns.

What's a Bukhara? Well, i know that one...

outsider wall art

These 2 phone photos are for Maureen and Patricia; Walking the canine boys yesterday, following the abandoned rail beside our apt. as it runs by abandoned warehouses, i saw this new + charming untypical graffiti.

One is our mother's table cloth; stencil on a white patch of painted over graffiti. The other is an old fashion looking bee hive, of all things.

loft wall

Sunday morning, sitting on our third floor balcony looking up the building...winter is over.
Me and my cheap and happy phone photos.
